PERIODONTAL (GUM) DISEASE IS THE SECOND KEY FACTOR (AFTER DENTAL CARIES) CAUSING LOSS OF TEETH
INITIAL STAGE OF THE TREATMENT
During this stage UNIDENT UNION Dental Spa focuses on eliminating the cause of disease, i.e. the infection caused by tooth and gum tartar-deposits. A patient is instructed on proper oral hygiene (proper and careful brushing, using dental floss and interdental brushes).
We usually recommend scaling or tartar deposits removal performed at a dental clinic. Additionally, other causes of periodontal and infection can be identified and removed as well as correcting prostheses and removing old fillings. The Clinic will also recommend various types of mouthwash with anti-bacterial or antiseptic properties. If required, antibiotics may be prescribed (to be taken orally or topically).
ADVANCED STAGE
In more complex cases where substantial loss of periodontium tissue has been observed, the Clinic performs a surgery to reconstruct the bone support for the teeth (bone grafts, tissue reconstruction).
VECTOR
It is an innovative, non-invasive supersonic scaler used for periodontal treatment. Thanks to its advanced technology, VECTOR enables cleaning of the deep gingivitis pouches. During the treatment the bacteria are removed from the pouches, while the root surfaces are prepared and polished to allow for rebuilding new periodontal ligament. Using the Vector scaler makes periodontal treatment minimally invasive or traumatic for a patient, while still being highly effective.
The VECTOR system is used in the following:
- prevention of parodontosis,
- as the main treatment in the early stages of parodontosis,
- in advanced periodontitis treatment, as a pre-surgical stage preparing for surgery and enhancing its outcome,
- as a follow-up treatment after the periodontal treatment,
- to treat inflammations around implants,
- to treat inflammations around full-ceramic prosthetics.
WITH THE VECTOR SYSTEM THE NUMBER OF SURGERIES HAS BEEN SIGNIFICANTLY DECREASED!
The treatment using the VECTOR system takes about 1-1.5 hour and is performed under local anaesthesia. After the treatment, patients may return to their daily activities. During the first few days they may feel minor pain or gum sensitivity. After 4-6 weeks, there is a check-up appointment.
